Coaching for Legal Procedural Performance (Actors)
From lead attorneys to background jurors, every legal role demands accuracy to tell the perfect story. Meg draws from nearly two decades of courtroom experience and one decade of trained acting for legal performance as both attorneys and witnesses to help actors fully embody their roles with confidence, precision, and nuance.
She can help actors:
• Understand the character’s role within the legal system and the story as a whole
• Learn how attorneys, judges, mediators, and others actually behave and the slight nuances that can set a performance apart
• Analyze settings and how the character specifically relates to that setting: courtroom, judge’s chambers, client meetings, or jail cells
• Master and understand the meaning behind all the legal lingo and procedures and deliver lines that demonstrate that understanding with authenticity, the right authority, and tone
• Perfect body language, vocal control, and nonverbal cues for each setting to portray the character authentically
• Select wardrobe that aligns with the type of attorney, legal figure, juror, or witness portrayed
• Understand character motivations within the context of legal outcomes
Meg also provides specialized coaching for:
• Witness roles (understanding the pressure and emotional arc of testifying)
• Juror roles (silent storytelling through posture, costume, and reaction)
• Audition preparation for all types of legal roles in TV, film, or stage
What truly elevates your performance is knowing the legal world your character inhabits. Meg will teach you how to identify your character’s objective, understand the scene’s legal context and how it relates to your character, and deliver an informed, compelling performance that stands out and either books the role or nails the performance on the big screen.
